Meet Our New Winemaker: Paige Whipp

Meet Our New Winemaker: Paige Whipp

February 25, 2026Leif O'Doyle

At EFESTĒ, winemaking is more than a profession—it's a calling rooted in family, tradition, and an unwavering commitment to craft. That's why we're thrilled to introduce Paige Whipp as our new Production Winemaker. Paige brings a rare combination of discipline, resilience, and genuine passion that aligns perfectly with the values we hold dear. Her journey to our cellar is one of dedication, service, and a lifelong love for wine that began well before she ever thought of it as a career.

A Passion Born in the Vineyard

Paige's introduction to wine wasn't through a textbook or a tasting room, it was through family. Growing up in a family that owned a winery in Oregon, she experienced firsthand the rhythm of harvest, the anticipation of crush, and the satisfaction of seeing a year's work come to fruition in the bottle. Travels through Europe deepened her appreciation for wine's ability to connect people, tell stories, and express a sense of place.

In 2001 and 2002, that early fascination turned into hands-on experience when Paige worked as a Harvest Cellar Hand at Torii Mor Winery in Oregon's renowned Willamette Valley. There, among the Pinot Noir vines and bustling fermentation tanks, she discovered not just a passion for wine, but an adoration for the meticulous craft of making it.

Service, Sacrifice, and a Second Calling

But life had other plans first. For nearly two decades, Paige served her country as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army. The skills she honed during her military career—strategic thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving under pressure, and unwavering dedication—would prove invaluable when she eventually returned to her first love: winemaking.

After years of service and sacrifice, Paige made the bold decision to pursue the passion that had quietly waited for her all those years. She enrolled in the Wine Production degree program at the Northwest Wine Academy in Seattle, diving deep into the science and art of enology and viticulture. And in 2021, she came to EFESTĒ as a Harvest Intern, working alongside our team during one of the most exciting and demanding times of the winemaking year. By 2023, she had graduated with a Winemaking degree and a foundation built on both knowledge and real-world experience.

Honing Her Craft in Woodinville

From 2022 to 2025, Paige served as Assistant Winemaker and Operations Manager at BAER Winery in Woodinville. Under the guidance of Consulting Winemaker Erica Orr, she helped craft Bordeaux-inspired blends that highlighted the exceptional fruit from Washington's Royal Slope AVA. It was here that Paige refined her palate, sharpened her technical skills, and deepened her understanding of what it takes to create wines that are both elegant and expressive.

Her time with other wineries taught her the importance of precision in the cellar, the value of showcasing terroir, and the art of blending varietals to create something greater than the sum of its parts. These are principles that resonate deeply with EFESTĒ's own winemaking philosophy. At EFESTĒ, we embrace a minimal-intervention, old-world approach that relies on native fermentation without commercial yeast, allowing the vineyard's true character to shine through in every bottle.

Coming Home to the Pacific Northwest

A proud Washington native, Paige's connection to the Pacific Northwest runs deep. She understands the nuances of our region's microclimates, the character of our soils, and the dedication required to grow exceptional fruit in this corner of the world. Her love for the area extends beyond the vineyard; she's energized by the vibrant wine culture, inspired by the local cuisine, and drawn to the stunning outdoor landscapes that make this place so special.

For Paige, joining EFESTĒ isn't just a new job, it's a homecoming. It's an opportunity to work with estate fruit from Red Mountain's revered vineyards, to collaborate with a team that treats winemaking as both a craft and a family tradition, and to contribute to a legacy that honors the past while looking boldly toward the future.

What This Means for EFESTĒ

Paige's arrival marks an exciting new chapter for our winery. Her unique background, which blends military precision with hands-on winemaking experience, brings a fresh perspective to our cellar. She understands the importance of discipline and consistency, but also the creativity and intuition required to make wines that tell a story.

We're confident that her passion, expertise, and dedication will help us continue crafting the bold, expressive wines our members and guests have come to love. Whether it's overseeing fermentation, fine-tuning blends, or working closely with our vineyard team to ensure we're bringing out the best in every grape, Paige is ready to pour her heart into every bottle.

Join Us in Welcoming Paige

We couldn't be more excited to have Paige Whipp as part of the EFESTĒ family. Her journey from Oregon vineyards to military service, and now to our Red Mountain estate, is a testament to the power of following your passion, even when the path isn't always clear from the beginning.

Stop by our Woodinville or SoDo tasting rooms to raise a glass in Paige's honor. Better yet, if you see her around the tasting room, ask her about her favorite varietals, her vision for our wines, or what it's like to trade Army fatigues for winemaking boots. We have a feeling you're going to love getting to know her as much as we already do.

Welcome to EFESTĒ, Paige. We can't wait to see everything we'll create together!
