2022 Estate Petit Verdot

Situated on a low-elevation site on Red Mountain, Taylor Mag Vineyard has allowed us to produce another special wine for our Estate series. This unique Petit Verdot, hand-selected from our favorite barrels, truly reflects why we love the distinct terroir from our Taylor Mag Estate Vineyard.

WINEMAKING NOTES

100% Petit Verdot

Our 100% Petit Verdot undergoes native fermentation and an extended maceration, which helps to soften the tannin structure and enhance its unique character. This wine is crafted only in exceptional vintages, ensuring a truly distinctive expression.

TASTING NOTES

Upon opening, the nose is rich and floral, with notes of lavender, sage, and sweet herbaceousness. The wine is fruit-forward with a full-bodied mouthfeel, showcasing bold flavors of blackberry and plum, with a mid-palate feature of chocolate-covered pencil shavings. True to its origins, the Red Mountain terroir shines through with a lengthy, expressive finish.

VINEYARD

The Taylor Mag Estate Vineyard, one of our three Estate Vineyards established in 2007, spans 17.1 acres. Here, our meticulous vineyard practices, including high-density planting and single-cordon trellising, enable us to cultivate robust varietals. This unique Petit Verdot, hand-selected from our favorite barrels, embodies the essence of the distinct terror from our Taylor Mag Estate Vineyard.
