This wine captures the essence of family winemaking, and the legacy of craftsmanship that began in 1995 with the first wine produced in “Big Papa” Daniel Ferrelli’s garage. Taylor Mag was originally introduced as a secondary label to meet the growing demand for EFESTĒ wines, but it quickly became a favorite among new customers and longtime club members. The purity of fruit, rich flavor, and affordability have made Taylor Mag one of our most popular wines.

The Winemaking Journey

The 2021 vintage of Taylor Mag is crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the 191 block of our Taylor Mag Estate Vineyard in Red Mountain. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo native fermentation, with minimal intervention to preserve the purity of the wine. After fermentation, the wine is aged for eighteen months in 50% new French oak barrels, allowing it to develop its rich character and complexity.

Our commitment to sustainable practices and minimal intervention ensures that this wine is a true expression of the terroir. It’s a wine that speaks to the land, the fruit, and the family traditions EFESTĒ was founded on.

The Vineyard

Our Taylor Mag Estate Vineyard spans 17.1 acres on Red Mountain, one of the most sought-after regions for wine production. The vineyard was established in 2007 with high-density planting and single-cordon trellising, practices that promote the growth of robust, concentrated varietals like our Taylor Mag Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine embodies the complex minerality and distinctive character of Red Mountain, offering a truly authentic taste of the region.
