Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - December 2008:

Efestē 2007 Evergreen Riesling

Rating: 90

Riesling

"Medium pale yellow. Lovely pure aromas of peach, citrus pith and flowers. Dense, lush and quite dry, with a strong stony quality complementing bitter/sweet pineapple and orange zest. Finishes long and brisk. This impressively dense Riesling was not fined after fermentation and has less than two grams per liter r.s. and a pH under 3.0. (Incidentally, this was the first vintage made by new winemaker Brennon Leighton, who bottled the 2005s and blended and bottled the 2006s. My early look at Leighton's very promising 2007 reds from barrel suggests that this will be Efeste's breakout vintage.)"
